Taylor
Taylor Swift has become a unique pop star: a celebrity who has strayed from country music to pop culture and became the pop icon of the future that will last forever and conquering all of the world. Swift has shed her country roots like she was shedding skins for second purposes revealing herself to be the smartest pop singer/songwriter of her time. Swift is able to take the zeitgeist of today and turn it into her personal. This was evident in her early hits including the neo-tribute Tim McGraw but her second album in 2008's Fearless featured a singer-songwriter figuring out the person she really was, and, in doing so, gaining the mass market. Fearless was a huge success not only in the United States and six of the singles have been certified platinum on the back of Top Ten hit songs Love Story and Belong with Me. But it also performed well around all over the world. Speak Now delivered almost two years later consolidated that achievement and propelled Swift into the stratosphere of superstardom. Through her next three albums, Red (2012) 1989 (2004) and Reputation (2017) and Reputation, her popularity increased and she was able to enter a world of pop music with a clear sense of where she was a part of. She stayed in the forefront of pop until she reverted to her own style on her sister albums Folklore and Evermore in 2020.
