Dolly Parton, who was born in Locust Ridge Tenn. on January. 19. 1946, into a humble family of 12 children later on, realized early that she could get away from the hardships of her life by using a imaginative mind. Before she learned to write and read Dolly Parton had already begun to compose her own songs. In 8 years, she had her very first guitar. At age 11 when she was 11, she began singing at the Knoxville Tennessee radio station. The first album she recorded was in the same calendar year with Gold Band Records, a small independent label. At the age of 16, she established herself in the local community, however her ambition was bigger. On the 14th of March, 1964, after her high school graduation the singer moved to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Around this time, Porter Wagoner was looking for the next girl to perform on his television show that was syndicated. Parton joined Grand Ole Opry 1969 after having signed with RCA Records. In 1974, she quit Wagoner's Show because the success of her singles like Joshua Coats from Many Colors or Jolene was way ahead of their joint release.
