Selena Gomez

Selena Marie Gomez (/s@/li:n@Gomez/s@–LEE-n@/GOH-mez (born July 22, 1992)) was an American actor, singer and producer. Gomez's acting journey began on the popular children's television series Barney & Friends (1902-2004). At the age of a teenager, Gomez became famous for her character Alex Russo in the Disney Channel television show Wizards of Waverly Place (1907-2012). Gomez has also been featured in a variety of films, including Another Cinderella Story (2008) and Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie (2010). She also starred in Ramona and Beezus (2010) as well as Spring Breakers (2012). She also voice actor on Mavis in Hotel Transylvania (2012-2022). Gomez was the executive producer of the Netflix television series 13 Reasons Why (2017-2020) and Living Undocumented (2019) through her production company, July Moon Productions. In addition, she is the executive producer and stars in the HBO Max cooking series Selena + Chef (2020-2022) and the Hulu mystery-comedy show Only Murders in the Building (2021-present). Gomez was praised by critics for the show as well as nominations for a Golden Globe Award and a Primetime Emmy Award as producer. Gomez who was previously in Selena Gomez & the Scene released three albums. All of them reached the top ten spots of the US Billboard 200. The albums were all certified gold and earned the Recording Industries Association of America's (RIAA). Her first solo album, Stars Dance (2013), topped the U.S. Billboard 200, while its main track, "Come & Get It" made it to the top ten of the US Billboard Hot 100. Gomez's second studio album, Revival (2015), debuted at the top of the charts in the US it was certified platinum by the RIAA, and spawned three US top ten songs: "Good for You", "Same Old Love", "Hands to Myself". Rare (2020) the singer's third studio album became her third consecutive top-ten album in the US. The first single, "Lose You, to Love Me" was her first number one hit in the US. Revelacion the Spanish-language EP is due out in 2021. The singer was nominated to the Grammy Award for Best Latin Pop Album. The singer has been recognized with numerous awards and was named Billboard's Women of the Year in 2017, and she also broke 15 Guinness World Records. Time magazine named Her one of the top 100 people in the world in 2020. Her social media following is huge and she is the most talked about actress and performer on Instagram. Her other ventures include clothing, makeup, handbag and fragrance lines. From the age of 17 she has been an UNICEF ambassador, and also worked on behalf of a variety of charities.
